Principal's Message

Greetings Marshall Elementary community,

 

I am Trinika Barnett, and I am incredibly honored and excited to introduce myself as your new principal as we begin the second semester of the academic year. It is a privilege to join the Thurgood Marshall Elementary School family, a community known for its dedication to excellence, inclusivity, and fostering a love of learning.

 

Throughout my career as an educator, I have served in various capacities, including as an elementary classroom teacher for 18 years, instructional coach, and equity coordinator at Lynwood Unified. Each of these experiences has shaped my commitment to ensuring all students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

 

My leadership approach is rooted in transformational servant leadership, collaboration, and equity. I aim to cultivate an environment where every individual feels valued, supported, and inspired!

 

As we move forward together, I am committed to continuing the strong traditions of Thurgood Marshall Elementary while exploring opportunities for growth and innovation. My primary focus is to support our students in reaching their fullest potential by working collaboratively with our talented teachers, dedicated staff, and engaged families.

 

Stepping into this role mid-year, I understand the importance of listening and learning from each of you—our teachers, staff, parents, and students. I want to thank you for welcoming me into this incredible community. Together, we will celebrate the many accomplishments of the first semester and build on those successes as we aim to make this second semester even more remarkable!
