Learning at Marshall

Where Every R.O.C.K. Star Shines

At Marshall Elementary, we believe that education is a lifelong journey—and we are proud to provide a strong foundation that supports every student’s academic and social-emotional growth. From Preschool through 6th grade, our programs are designed to challenge, inspire, and empower our scholars to reach their full potential as learners and leaders.

Rigorous Academics

We offer a standards-based curriculum designed to challenge and inspire our TK–6 learners. Our dedicated educators focus on building strong foundations in English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies, ensuring students are ready for the academic demands of the 21st century.

Our instruction emphasizes:

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving

  • Real-world learning opportunities

  • Technology integration across subjects

  • Collaboration and creativity

Through strategic planning, ongoing professional development, and daily interventions, our team ensures that all students — including English Learners and students with disabilities — are equipped for long-term success.

Focus Areas

  • Targeted Reading Intervention: Teachers use student data to identify reading gaps and provide small group, research-based support tailored to individual student needs. Our goal is to help every student shift from “learning to read” to confidently “reading to learn.”

  • Growth Mindset & Goal Setting: Students set short- and long-term goals tied to district benchmark assessments, aiming to grow at least one performance band each time. This empowers them to take ownership of their learning and recognize that success comes through perseverance and effort.

Enrichment & Student Motivation

  • Benchmark Celebrations and Recognitions: Students are recognized for academic growth, effort, and progress toward their goals.

  • College and Career Readiness Culture: Marshall fosters a schoolwide environment where students see the connection between hard work today and a successful future. Through class discussions and goal-setting, students begin building the mindset and skills needed for college, career, and beyond.

Family & Community Engagement

Families are welcomed throughout the year during Back to School Nights, Open Houses, workshops, and parent conferences — all designed to strengthen the partnership between home and school and empower parents to take an active role in their child's education. We offer:

  • Parent workshops and academic meetings

  • School Advisory Council and Title I meetings

  • Opportunities to connect with teachers and staff regularly

  • School and cultural events

Our Marshall Elementary Bisons are R.O.C.K. Stars who are responsible, optimistic, cooperative, kind, and scholarly. Through academic rigor, social-emotional support, and a commitment to growth, we prepare every student to soar with confidence into the future.
