Lynwood Unified Recognizes Classified Employees of the Year for Dedication to Student Success

Lynwood Unified celebrated its classified staff during the May 28 Board of Education meeting, proudly recognizing Martha Gayton, a Child Care Assistant with Early Childhood Education, as the 2026 District Classified Employee of the Year. Gayton was honored for creating a welcoming environment and developing meaningful relationships between students, families and staff.
The recognition was presented following Classified School Employees Week, which celebrates essential staff who help keep schools running smoothly and ensure students are supported each day. Across Lynwood Unified, classified employees serve in a range of roles, including office support, campus safety, attendance, food services, custodial work, maintenance, special education, libraries, family engagement and District operations.
